Read the following passage and answer the question:
As the clock continues to tick on global climate change, the slow pace at which the world Í specifically the least developed world Í is able to adapt to fast changing weather patterns and rising global temperatures is emerging as a serious cause for concern. As it stands today, many of the strides achieved in parts of Asia and sub-Saharan Africa Í in terms of reducing child and maternal mortality or mitigating hunger Í could now be in peril with climate change placing lives, health and livelihoods in peril. We should emphasize the need for knowledge-sharing and exchange of technical expertise between countries dealing with climate change, often organically developed by communities forced to live with increased incidences of flooding or drought or even untimely frost and gradual desertification. While the onus of mitigating the causes of climate change, i.e. harmful emissions of greenhouse gases, rests with the industrialized countries of the north, it is a painful reality that the world will have to deal with some of the worst excesses of global warming and consequent climate change for some decades even if emissions are significantly reduced today. What’s worse, the doomsday scenario of millions of climate refugees and rising death tolls from extreme weather events increasingly looks likely given that the countries of the European Union, the United States and even India and China are unwilling to reform their destructive path of so-called ‘economic progress’.
Qs: What is the serious cause of concern about global climate?
